Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga proposed the creation of a food hub in Oman to allow Ukrainian products to enter the markets of East African countries. This was discussed during negotiations with the Minister of Economy of Oman, Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sakri, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday, October 23.

The minister expressed Ukraine’s interest in developing relations with Oman and the Gulf states in many areas, including trade, investment, food export, development of renewable energy and technology.

Sibiga invited the Omani side to consider the possibility of creating a food hub for Ukrainian products and further promotion in the markets of East African countries.

The minister emphasized that, despite the war and Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s port infrastructure and civilian ships, our state remains one of the guarantors of global food security. He assured Ukraine’s readiness to continue to be a reliable partner for the states of the Middle East and Africa in the supply of critically needed food.

The Foreign Minister also invited the Omani side to participate in the third Food Summit, which will be held this year in Kyiv, and the next conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

As reported, after his visit to Turkey, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga is visiting Oman, and will then make visits to Angola, Egypt and South Africa.
