The Foreign Minister said that the Hungarian MVM signed a memorandum with the Russian company, which will consist of increasing the purchased volume.
Hungary and the Russian company Gazprom are discussing an agreement for 2025 on additional gas purchases by Budapest. This was said by the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjártó, Russian media reported.
On October 10, at the gas forum in St. Petersburg, Gazprom and the Hungarian energy company MVM signed a memorandum of understanding on the possibility of increasing Russian gas supplies to Hungary.
Szijjártó said that the agreement involved increasing the volumes purchased.
“This becomes possible thanks to the capacity of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. We will use all the capacity, which will allow us to increase the volumes of all commercial contracts,” said the Hungarian official.
The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry added that the signed memorandum also consolidates for the coming years the execution of additional agreements on long-term contracts that guarantee competitive prices.
As we have already written, since the beginning of this year Gazprom has exported 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas to Hungary, which has already exceeded the amount imported last year.
Szijjarto said the world will face a new war if Ukraine joins NATO
