Unilever has completed the sale of its Russian subsidiary (Unilever Russia – ed.) to the Russian manufacturer of perfumes, cosmetics and household goods Arnest Group.

The British company Unilever has completely withdrawn from the Russian market. Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher announced this on October 10.

“Unilever has today completed the sale of its Russian subsidiary (Unilever Russia – ed.) to the Russian manufacturer of perfumes, cosmetics and household goods Arnest Group,” he said.

The sale includes Unilever’s entire business in Russia and four factories in the country. The Belarus business is also included in the sale.

According to Schumacher, over the past year the company has been carefully preparing Unilever’s business in Russia for potential sales.

“This work is very complex and includes the separation of IT platforms and supply chains, as well as the transfer of brands to the Cyrillic alphabet The completion of sales ends the presence of Unilever in Russia,” said Unilever CEO.

As you know, Unilever owns more than 400 brands, including Domestos, Ax, Rexona, Dove, Lipton, Creme Bonjour, CIF, Knorr, Sunsilk, Timotei and CLEAR.

It was previously reported that consumer and household goods holding Unilever, which arrived in Russia in 1991, waited for the decision of the Russian government commission to exit the Russian market.

Let’s remember that in May, the French food giant Danone announced that it has completed the sale of its assets and is winding down its activities in Russia, which account for about 5% of the company’s global sales and where it has operated for more than 30 years. .
