Demand for used cars fell by a third in Ukraine

The average age of used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates in September was 9.2 years.

In September, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with about 17 thousand used cars imported from abroad. Compared to September 2023, the registration of such cars decreased by 19%. It was reported by Ukravtoprom on Friday, October 4th.

It is known that this year it is one of the lowest registration rates of imported second-hand goods was only lower in January. Compared to the previous month, this number decreased by 34%.

The largest share in this segment of the car market belongs to gasoline cars – 46%. It is followed by: diesel – 25%; electric vehicles – 19%; hybrids and cars with LPG – 5% each.

The average age of used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates in September was 9.2 years.

The leader in registrations among imported second-hand goods remains the Volkswagen Golf.

The TOP 10 most popular models of the month include:

  • Volkswagen Golf – 1018 units;

  • Renault Megane – 793 units;

  • Skoda Octavia – 685 units;

  • Volkswagen Tiguan – 483 units;

  • Volkswagen Passat – 477 units;

  • Nissan Leaf – 440 units;

  • Audi Q5 – 426 units;

  • Audi A4 – 333 units;

  • Tesla Model 3 – 325 units;

  • Nissan Rogue – 322 units.

In total, since the beginning of the year, 176 thousand used cars passed their first registration in Ukraine, which is 19% more than in the same period in 2023.

Let us remind you that in August the demand for electric cars increased in Ukraine. Ukrainians bought 6,445 battery-powered vehicles.
