The Ukrainian government is preparing for less favorable developments due to the Russian attacks, including long power outages.
The EU will create a reserve of diesel fuel for Ukraine to help during the heating season and ensure the functioning of social institutions in case of emergency shutdowns. This was reported by European Truth in relation to a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Now, if the next Russian attacks do not lead to critical effects on our energy infrastructure, we do not expect the planned loss in winter when the air temperature is more than 10 degrees below zero, ” said the message.
At the same time, it was made clear that the government was preparing for less favorable developments, including a long emergency shutdown.
Then the main element of support for Ukraine in such a situation should be the reserve of diesel fuel, which has already started to be bought from the EU.
“The stocks will be stored in the EU, and not in Ukraine, so that they will not be the target of Russian attacks, however, they will allow us to ensure the operation of generators, which in this case will operate social institutions. ” the source added.
We remind you that the Verkhovna Rada voted on changes to the Tax Code regarding the increase of excise taxes on fuel.
So, from September 1, excise tax rates on fuel increased from 215.5 euros to 242.6 euros. Prices for diesel fuel increased from 139.5 euros to 177.6 euros. Autogas rates increased from 52 to 165 euros.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to increase excise tax rates on tobacco products from July 2024.
