Ruble transactions at Ziraat Bank were available to clients if they had documents, but now such transactions have been stopped.
The largest Turkish state bank Ziraat will refuse to carry out transactions in Russian rubles. A bank representative confirmed this information to Russian propagandists, reports The Moscow Times.
Russians in Turkey then began to complain that Ziraat stopped opening ruble accounts without explanation, and offered clients who already had such accounts to convert Russian currency into Turkish lira.
Ruble transactions at Ziraat Bank are available to clients with a residence permit or a document confirming the right to work or study in Turkey. But now in the country there are difficulties in opening accounts in Russian currency.
Russians doing business in Turkey have complained that other state-owned Turkish banks follow similar rules, although some private financial institutions still open ruble accounts.
Let’s recall that on August 12 it was reported that against the backdrop of the events in the Kursk region, the Russian ruble was trading at 90.30 per US dollar, which was then the lowest level since the end of May.
