Car imports to Ukraine increased by a third

Among the largest suppliers of passenger cars are Germany, USA, Japan, China, Korea, France, Slovakia, Mexico, Britain, and the Czech Republic.

In the first half of 2024, a third more cars were imported into Ukraine than in the same period last year. It was reported by Ukravtoprom.

It was noted that from January to June, 167.6 thousand passenger cars (used and new) were imported into Ukraine. This is a third more than the same period in 2023.

Over the past six months, passenger cars worth nearly $2.3 billion were imported into Ukraine, which is 40% more than in the past.

The top ten largest suppliers of passenger cars include the following countries:

• Germany – 33074 units;

• USA – 27649 units;

• Japan – 18099 units;

• China – 17715 units;

• Korea – 8703 units;

• France – 8284 units;

• Slovakia – 7814 units;

• Mexico – 7767 units;

• Great Britain – 6978 units;

• Czech Republic – 6825 units.

We remind you that sales of new cars have increased significantly in Ukraine. In July, about 6.4 thousand new passenger cars were registered, which is 20% more than last year. Compared to June 2024, an increase of 24%.

It is also reported that the demand for used cars from abroad is growing in Ukraine. In July, the Ukrainian car fleet was filled with 20 thousand of these cars.
