People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak highlighted the absence of the 1% turnover tax and VAT increase in the bill.
The final government bill on changes to the Tax Code is planned to be submitted to the relevant committee and the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in the first weeks of September. This was reported by the MP from the parliamentary faction Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
The initial parameters of the revised version of the government’s bill have been identified, the citizen’s representative said.
The bill retains the following provisions:

increasing the level of military duty from 1.5 to 5%; establishing a military tax for individual entrepreneurs of the first and second groups in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage;

establishing a military tax of 1% for the third group of single taxpayers;
-
establishing a monthly advance payment for gas stations (as amended).
“Among the new provisions of the bill, it is proposed: the establishment of the income tax rate for banks at 50% for 2024 increasing the income tax rate for financial companies to 25%, ” added the MP.
The parliamentarian highlighted the absence of the 1% turnover tax and VAT increase in the bill. He positively assessed these qualities.
According to preliminary calculations of the deputy, the revised bill will bring less than UAH 125 billion in additional revenue by the end of the year.
Expectations from additional revenues were reduced by at least UAH 30-40 billion.
Let’s recall that in July the Cabinet of Ministers approved changes to the state budget, proposing to increase its spending by UAH 500.3 billion, of which UAH 495.3 billion will be allocated to the needs of the security and defense sector. It was planned that the funds would be raised through increased taxes and increased borrowing in the form of government bonds.
The Finance Ministry also said that a tax hike is inevitable, as all other sources of increased funding for the defense sector have been exhausted.
