The average dollar selling rate rose to 41.45 hryvnia, and the euro rate jumped to 45.60 hryvnia.

The hryvnia exchange rate fell slightly against the dollar and euro at exchange offices at the beginning of the new week. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Monday, August 19.

So, the average selling rate of the dollar increased by 5 kopecks to 41.45 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate immediately jumped by 15 kopecks to 45.60 Hryvnia.

Today, exchange offices bought dollars on average for 40.95 UAH, and euros for 44.90 UAH.

In the interbank market, the American currency rate is at the level of 41.27-41.29 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 1 kopeck compared to Friday’s close.

The National Bank increased the exchange rate of the dollar against the Hryvnia after a decrease of two days in a row – 41.211 UAH (+0.0728 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 45.2991 UAH (-0.0064 UAH).

In general, in the last two weeks the structural deficit of foreign currency in the interbank market has slightly decreased. Over the past week, the NBU sold more than $500 million in the interbank market. Since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold $19 billion, which is less than international aid to Ukraine, which reached $24.5 billion.

Remind us that in July, Ukrainians bought a record amount of cash currency for 12 years – $2.775 billion. Net purchases were $1.117 billion.
