More than 2,300 ships have called at Ukraine’s Black Sea ports this year. Cargo turnover reached more than 64 million tons.
During the year of operation of the Black Sea sea corridor, 2,300 ships entered the Black Sea ports of Ukraine. Cargo turnover reached more than 64 million tons. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this at a government meeting on Friday, August 16.
The head of the government recalled that from the first day of the invasion, Russia did everything to ensure that Ukraine’s ports on the Black Sea were blocked. This is how the enemy pressures the economy of Ukraine and its allies, creating threats to global food security.
According to Shmygal, one of the biggest achievements for Ukraine last year was the opening of the Ukrainian sea corridor.
The Prime Minister shared the results of the sea corridor work for Ukraine.
“More than 2,300 ships entered Ukraine’s Black Sea ports this year, amounting to more than 64 million tons of grain exported from Ukraine,” he said.
According to him, all this has a positive impact on various sectors of the state’s economy and the economy as a whole.
Let’s recall that the US State Department previously mentioned an example of “incredible success” achieved by Ukraine. Not only did Ukraine maintain the volume of Black Sea grain exports, but also expelled the Russian fleet, which tried to paralyze exports.
