Stopping investment activity in the sector could lead to a decrease in gas production, a reduction in taxes and job losses, the association said.
The association, which unites the largest gas-producing enterprises in Ukraine, is concerned about a number of media publications containing false information about one of its members – LLC Horizons from a group of companies Westnadraservice. This was reported by the ASCU press service.
The association states that this has a negative impact on the business climate in the sector and directly on natural gas production volumes.
“Those who spread false and manipulative information do it for the sake of their own interests. Such actions work against the state, because they drive away potential investors – both Ukrainian and foreign, and this happens in a time when the country urgently needs international capital, innovative technology and support from Western partners,” the statement said.
The association emphasizes that the cessation of investment activity in the sector will lead to a decrease in gas production, a reduction in taxes and a reduction in employment. This will significantly weaken Ukraine’s energy security.
“During an all-out war, the company Horizons invested more than UAH 1.5 billion in the sector and paid more than UAH 2.4 billion in taxes and fees to the state budget. The company invests heavily in local infrastructure – road repairs and other important social projects,” the association said.
Previously, the Department of Energy had warned about enemy IPSO activation. The Russians continue to actively use information attacks to discredit the actions taken to overcome the crisis in the energy sector and prepare for the difficult autumn-winter season.
We remind you that at Ukrainergo said that the preparation of the energy system for a difficult winter continues, in particular, the protection of energy facilities is provided. Recent drone attacks have proven that such protection works.
