According to the economic classification of costs, the largest growth in May was recorded in wage and payroll items-47.9% against April-22 and 4.4 times against May-21. These costs amounted to UAH 90.4 billion
Overall, state budget expenditures in May reached UAH 225.5 billion, which is 28.4% more than in April and 81.6% more than in May last year.
At the same time, state budget revenues in May reached UAH 107.5 billion, which is 28.5% more than in April, but 9.5% less than a year earlier.
A significant part of the revenue consists of grants from the EU, other states and international organizations – UAH 15.9 billion in May compared to UAH 21.8 billion in April. The rest of the deficit is funded by the purchase of government bonds of the National Bank and market participants, external borrowing and use of funds from a single treasury account – about UAH 38 billion.
According to the NBU, within five months the deficit exceeded UAH 270 billion, which is more than the previous two years combined.
