The largest share of state budget revenues – 65% – was paid by hotels (UAH 808.96 million), reported the State Agency for the Development of Trisma.
In the first half of 2024, representatives of the Ukrainian tourism industry paid UAH 1.25 billion to the budget, which is almost a quarter higher than the figures for the same period in 2021 (UAH 1.08 billion). This was reported by the press service of the State Agency for Tourism Development.
According to the head of the agency, Maryana Oleskiv, one of the reasons for the increase in the amount of tax revenue, in addition to inflationary processes, is the increase in the flow of tourists within the country.
“Data from one of the booking platforms shows that bookings across the country this year exceeded the numbers for 2019. And this indicates that domestic tourism in Ukraine is developing, and the communities, thanks to the increase in the number of tourists, fills local budgets and creates additional jobs.” , – said the officer.
As reported in the report, in the first half of 2024, the total number of taxpayers working in the tourism industry increased by 13% compared to the same period in 2023, the number of legal entities increased by 4% , and individuals by 17% .
But compared to the same period in 2021, the number of taxpayers in the tourism industry decreased by 27%. Legal entities in tourism decreased by 43%, individuals – by 21%.
The largest share of state budget revenues – 65% – was paid by hotels (UAH 808.96 million). In 2023, UAH 569.83 million was paid, and for the same period in 2021 – UAH 665.42 million.
Tax revenues from tourism operators also increased significantly – UAH 164.74 million compared to UAH 88.3 million for the same period last year. In 2021, the state treasury received UAH 106 million from tour operators.
It was previously reported that more than 20 tourist routes were closed to the public in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Also, due to restrictions related to the strengthening of the border regime, entry into the five-kilometer border zone is prohibited.
In the Canary Islands, local residents are against mass tourism. They held rallies to call on the authorities to temporarily limit the influx of travelers.
