The financial police of Italian Florence confiscated assets worth 41 million euros from a Russian businessman following a request for international legal assistance issued by the Ukrainian Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP). This was reported by Ansa on Monday, July 29.

It is indicated that we are talking about company shares with a nominal value of 3 million euros and four real estate properties worth about 38 million euros. They are the result of the reinvestment of illegally accumulated profits, established by Italian anti-corruption officials.
“The businessman is under investigation for crimes committed in Ukraine related to corruption of government officials, fraud against a Ukrainian state-owned company involved in the sale of agricultural products that worth more than $60 million, as well as money laundering,” the statement said.
It was established that the Russian, reinvesting part of the funds obtained illegally, through a trust in Florence, owns the entire capital of the company, which controls a luxury real estate complex in the capital of Tuscany.
At the same time, the media has not yet provided any additional details of the businessman’s personality.
