In Russia’s manufacturing sector, growth rates slowed by half – from 9.1% in May to 4.6% in June.
In June, the growth rate of industrial production in Russia slowed almost three times and became the lowest in the last 15 months. This was reported by the Russian publication The Moscow Times in connection with the Rosstat report.
During the month, the industry added only 1.9% in annual terms (after May’s growth of 5.3%), and every month it began to fall completely: compared to May, the output in Russia decreased by 1.5 % – a record since January 2023.

After Ukraine’s attacks on the largest oil refinery, the production of petroleum products decreased by 4.4% and diesel fuel by 8.1%. Following a fall in metal exports by 1.2%, metallurgical output fell.
At the same time, the production of domestic clothes and shoes began to decrease (by 2.8% and 9.9%, respectively).
In the raw materials sector, Rosstat recorded the strongest decline since March 2023: mineral production decreased by 3.1%, and compared to May (-0.3%), the rate of decline accelerated 10 times.
Coal production fell by 3% after India, China and Turkey significantly reduced their purchases. And Russia’s statistics on oil and gas are classified.
It was previously reported that air ticket prices in Russia have increased dramatically. Flights within Russia in economy class have increased in price by an average of 31% since the beginning of this year.
