AMCU approved the purchase of lifecell by a French company

DVL Telecom is a subsidiary of the French investment company NJJ Capital, owned by billionaire Xavier Niel.

On July 25, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) approved an application for the purchase of the Ukrainian operator lifecell by the French company DVL Telecom. This was reported on the AMCU website on Thursday, July 25.

DVL Telecom received permission to control the companies Global Bilgi, Lifecell and Ukrtauer.

DVL Telecom is a subsidiary of the French investment company NJJ Capital, owned by billionaire Xavier Niel.

In October 2023, the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv seized the assets of sanctioned Russian oligarch Mikhail Fridman. Among them, in particular, is the mobile operator lifecell.

In March 2022, Aven and Fridman were subject to EU and UK sanctions, and in August 2023 they were blacklisted by the US Treasury Department.
