The average cash dollar selling rate increased to 41.50 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate increased to 45.30 Hryvnia.
The exchange rate of the hryvnia fell significantly against the dollar and the euro at the exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Tuesday, July 16.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine jumped by 35 kopecks to 41.50 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate also increased by 35 kopecks to 45.30 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.00 UAH, and euros for 44.60 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.16-41.19 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 8 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank slightly reduced the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia after a historical high of UAH 41.0107 (-0.0327 UAH). In turn, the euro rose in price to a new record – 44.7263 UAH (+0.0403 UAH).
We remind you that last week the NBU reduced the sale of foreign currency by 16% to $532 million. In total, since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold $15.4 billion in the interbank market.
As you know, the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a further increase in the dollar exchange rate. According to the Budget Declaration, in 2025 the average exchange rate will increase by 10% to 45 UAH/dollar. At the same time, the budget for 2024 includes an average exchange rate of 40.7 UAH/dollar and 42.1 UAH/dollar in December.
It was also reported that the cash dollar exchange rate increased for the fourth consecutive month. In June, it increased by 1.7% to UAH 40.85.
