The International Monetary Fund team arrived in Kyiv and will hold meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine in connection with a statement by IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Vahram Stepanyan on Tuesday, July 16.
“A team of IMF specialists led by Gavin Gray begins meetings today in Kyiv with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and other partners will focus discussions on the government’s financial plans for second half of this year and the medium term,” he said.
As you know, at the beginning of July, the state budget of Ukraine received another tranche of a loan from the IMF for $2.2 billion. At the same time, to receive the next loan, the fund set two additional requirements for Ukraine.
It was also reported that after receiving the tranche, Ukraine took second place in the world in terms of debt to the IMF.
