Since the beginning of 2024, the dollar at the official exchange rate has become more expensive by 8.0%, or by UAH 3.05.
The hryvnia exchange rate fell to a record level against the dollar on the interbank foreign exchange market. For the first time in history, the level of 41 UAH/$ was exceeded, Interfax-Ukraine reported on Friday, July 12.
According to market participants, around noon buy quotes were around 41.06 UAH/$, while sell quotes were 41.09 UAH/$.
The National Bank set the reference rate at 12:00 Friday at 41.0515 UAH/$ compared to 40.8423 UAH/$ the previous day.
On the cash market, the dollar also rose in price on Friday by about 10 kopecks – up to 41.1 UAH/$ buying and $41.2 UAH/$ selling.
Since the beginning of 2024, the dollar at the official rate has become more expensive by 8.0%, or by UAH 3.05, and since the National Bank switched to managed flexibility mode on October 3, 2023 – by 12.3%, or by UAH 4.48 .
We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a further increase in the dollar exchange rate. According to the Budget Declaration, in 2025 the average exchange rate will increase by 10% – up to 45 UAH/dollar. At the same time, the budget for 2024 includes an average exchange rate of 40.7 UAH/dollar and 42.1 UAH/dollar in December.
It was also reported that the cash dollar exchange rate increased for the fourth consecutive month. In June, it increased by 1.7% to UAH 40.85.
