European aerospace corporation Airbus SE has received orders for 152 aircraft worth $24 billion from Cebu Air of the Philippines, owner of Cebu Pacific. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, July 2.

The agreement between the two companies contains firm orders for 102 A321neo aircraft with an option to purchase a further 50 A320neo aircraft.

This aircraft order is the largest in the history of the Philippine aviation industry.

“The purchase of the aircraft will give Cebu Pacific maximum flexibility to adapt its increased fleet size to market conditions,” said Cebu Air Chief Executive Officer Michael Such.

We previously wrote that in 2023, Airbus delivered 735 civil aircraft. This is 11% more than a year earlier.

It was also reported that Ukraine is submitting applications to European and American safety regulators to confirm the plan to open the airspace.
