It is indicated that the contract for a total value of up to 8.5 billion euros was signed by representatives of the Bundeswehr and Rheinmetall. The exact amount of ammunition ordered is unknown, but judging by the value of the contract, we can talk about several million shells.

“The delivery is planned to start at the beginning of 2025. The main buyer is Germany, which will provide part of the supplies to the partner countries – the Netherlands, Estonia and Denmark – also participating in the order,” said the statement. .

Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger called the order “the largest in the company’s recent history.”

Earlier in June, the first workshop of Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom started operating in Ukraine. The main task of the new site is the repair and production of military equipment of German models.

It has also been reported that Rheinmetall plans to build at least four factories in Ukraine where weapons will be produced.
