The average dollar selling rate in Ukraine decreased to 40.90 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate decreased to 44.25 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate continues to grow against the dollar and euro at exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Thursday, June 20.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased by another 5 kopecks to 40.90 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate also fell by 5 kopecks to 44.25 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 40.40 UAH, and euros for 43.50 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.52-40.54 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – unchanged compared to the previous day’s close.
Last day, the National Bank of Ukraine reduced the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the fourth consecutive day – to the level of UAH 40.5381 (-0.0112 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 43.5744 UAH (+0.1258 UAH).
Earlier, the National Bank named the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
And last week it was reported that the NBU lowered the discount rate for the third time in a row. Such a move will contribute to a further revival of lending, which is important for economic recovery, the regulator assured.
