The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased to 41.00 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate decreased to 44.25 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate strengthened against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Tuesday, June 18.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine fell by 10 kopecks – to 41.00 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate decreased by 5 kopecks – to 44.25 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 40.50 Hryvnia, and euros for 43.55 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.63-40.65 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – unchanged compared to the previous day’s close.
Last day, the National Bank slightly reduced the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the second day in a row – UAH 40.6485 (-0.0005 UAH). Today’s euro exchange rate is 43.5366 UAH (+0.0584 UAH).
Earlier, the National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
And last week it became known that the NBU lowered the discount rate for the third time in a row. Such a step will contribute to a further revival of lending, which is important for economic recovery, assured the regulator.
