The regulator lowered the official dollar exchange rate, although in the interbank market the dollar rose by 5 kopecks, to UAH 40.49-40.52.
The National Bank of Ukraine reduced the exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia after four days of growth. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Wednesday, June 12.
The official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at UAH 40.4441. for 1 dollar (-0.0737 UAH). Thus, the American currency did not update its historical maximum, which was made on June 3 – 40.5373 UAH per 1 dollar.
But the euro exchange rate rose slightly after a two-day decline and reached the level of 43.532 UAH (+0.0726 UAH).
In the interbank market, the dollar rose by 5 kopecks to UAH 40.49-40.52 (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
At the same time, the dollar remained stable in exchange offices – UAH 40.90.
Remind us that in May, Ukrainians bought a record amount of money. The currency’s buying volume exceeded its selling volume by $1.04 billion.
The National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
