The American currency is again near a historic high, and the euro has lost for two days in a row.
The National Bank of Ukraine raised the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate for the fourth time in a row. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Tuesday, June 11.
The official exchange rate for Wednesday is set at UAH 40.5178. for 1 dollar (+0.0932 UAH). Thus, the American currency again approached its historical maximum, which on June 3 reached UAH 40.5373.
At the same time, the official exchange rate of the euro decreased for the second day in a row and tomorrow will reach UAH 43.4594 (-0.0132 UAH).
Today in the interbank market the dollar fell by 3 kopecks to UAH 40.42-40.46 (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar exchange rate increased by 10 kopecks to UAH 40.90.
Earlier it became known that in May, Ukrainians bought a record amount of money. The currency’s buying volume exceeded its sales volumes by $1.04 billion.
The National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
