The cash market immediately responded to the change in trend: at night the exchange rate of the selling dollar rose to UAH 40.60.
The National Bank of Ukraine slightly increased the exchange rate of the dollar and euro against the hryvnia, after it strengthened for three days in a row. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Thursday, June 6.
So, the official dollar exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 40.1537 UAH (+0.0283 UAH). And the euro is worth 43.6270 UAH (+0.0187 UAH).
In the interbank foreign exchange market today, the rate increased by 3 kopecks to 40.13-40.16 UAH/dollar in buying and selling compared to yesterday’s trading close.
The cash market responded to the change in trend: if in the first half of the day exchangers sold the dollar at an average of 40.53 UAH, then at night the rate rose to 40.60 UAH.
Earlier on Thursday it became known that in May, international reserves of Ukraine decreased by almost 8% – to $39 billion. This is due to the fact that the NBU spent more than 3 billion hryvnia to support the hryvnia. Another more than $600 million was spent on paying off debts.
And the other day, the National Bank explained the reasons for the growth of the dollar in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
