Elon Musk clarified his plans to fire Tesla employees two weeks after an internal company email leaked revealing his intentions.
“Suspend hiring worldwide,” read the subject line of the email from Muskin which he explained that he had a “bad feeling” about the global economy.

Elon Musk appeared in Qatar Economic Forumwhere he was consulted about his plan for dismissal.
The billionaire clarified that the staff cuts would be focused on salaried employees, not those on hourly wages.
“Tesla in the next three months, it will reduce the hired labor force by about 10%,” he assured.
Musk wait Tesla have more hourly contract workers: “We grew very fast in terms of employees and even too fast in some areas, so reductions are required,” he explained.
Elon Musk estimates that a 10% reduction in the number of employees would mean a reduction of 3 to 3.5% of the total Tesla.
