The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased to 41.15 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate increased to 44.70 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate fell again against the dollar and the euro on the cash market on the last working day of the week. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Friday, May 31.
So, the average dollar selling rate in Ukraine increased by 10 kopecks to UAH 41.15, the euro exchange rate also increased by 10 kopecks to UAH 44.70.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 40.65 UAH, and a euro for 44.00 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 40.63-40.68 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 8 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
The previous day, the National Bank raised the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate for the eighth time to a historical maximum of UAH 40.5001 (+0.0169 UAH). In turn, the euro fell slightly in price – 43.8171 UAH (-0.1031 UAH).
Let us remind you that in the past week and a half, the dollar has risen in price more than the hryvnia. And in May its rate increased by 2.1% (from 39.66 UAH/dollar on April 30). Since the beginning of the year, the dollar has increased by 6.6% (37.98 UAH/dollar as of December 31, 2023).
Participants in the financial market believe that the main reason for the devaluation of the Hryvnia is the political decision of the NBU, whose time has come.
