The dollar and euro continue to rise in exchange offices

The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased to 40.10 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate increased to 43.65 hryvnia.

The hryvnia exchange rate continues to depreciate against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Wednesday, May 22.

The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 5 kopecks to 40.10 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate immediately increased by 15 kopecks – 43.65 Hryvnia.

Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 39.60 UAH, and a euro for 42.95 UAH.

In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 39.77-39.81 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 1 kopeck compared to the previous day’s close.

The day before, the National Bank raised the dollar exchange rate to a historical maximum – UAH 39.8052. The previous maximum was recorded exactly one month ago, on April 22 – 39.7879.

In turn, the euro exchange rate was set at UAH 43.2643 (+0.1841 UAH). This is also an all-time high. The previous record was set on May 21 – 43.0802 UAH.

Remind us that over the past week the dollar exchange rate has decreased in the interbank market, and the NBU has reduced the sale of foreign currency to $490 million, which is 8% less than last week ($533 million).

In general, in the last week the official dollar exchange rate fell by 30 kopecks – from 39.72 to 39.42 UAH/dollar. In the cash market, the dollar fell below 40 hryvnia.
