The Volgograd refinery was attacked by drones on May 12, but it managed to continue the operation of the damaged unit.
The Volgograd oil refinery, owned by Lukoil, resumed operations after being damaged in a drone attack on May 12. Reuters reported.
The plant, which has a production capacity of 300,000 barrels per day, caught fire on May 12 after a drone strike. CDU-1 unit is broken.
“The CDU-1 unit has a capacity of 18,590 metric tons per day and an annual production of 6.5 million metric tons, or 130 thousand b/d, of oil. This represents 43% of the refinery’s capacity and 49% of the actual processing at the refinery in the I quarter of 2024,” the statement said.
Drones previously attacked the refinery in February this year, but were able to carry out maintenance for 18 days.
Let’s recall that on the night of May 12, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked important businesses in Russia – in the Volgograd, Kaluga and Lipetsk regions.
The main thing is scale: Ukraine found the weak points of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation
