More than 43 thousand individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine in 2024 were registered by women. This is more than half of the total number of newly created individual entrepreneurs in the first quarter of this year, Opendatabot reports.
“43,554 new individual entrepreneurs were created by women in the first quarter of 2024. This is 59% of the total number of new cases and a record figure in previous years that opened 30,496 new cases in the same period, the share of women is 51% of the total number of newly created individual entrepreneurs,” the message said.
It is noted that women mostly choose retail trade (68% of women and 32% of men), other personal services (89% of women and 11% of men) and information services ( 63% of women and 37% of men) for their activities. Men are more likely to choose computer programming and wholesale trade.
We remind you that in the first quarter of 2024, Ukrainians opened more than 74 thousand new individual entrepreneurs, which is 33.6% more than in the same period last year.
As reported, the number of newly created businesses broke pre-war records last year.
