The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased to UAH 39.90, and the euro exchange rate decreased to UAH 43.30.
The hryvnia exchange rate strengthened against the dollar on the cash market for the second day in a row. The price of the euro also fell, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing tracking data on Friday, May 17.
The average dollar selling rate in Ukraine decreased by 10 kopecks to 39.90 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate decreased by 15 kopecks to 43.30 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 39.30 UAH, and a euro for 42.60 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 39.33-39.35 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of one kopeck compared to the previous day’s close.
The previous day, the NBU lowered the official exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia to the level of 39.4305 UAH (-0.1466 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 42.8452 UAH (-0.0049 UAH).
We remind you that on May 16, the dollar exchange rate on the interbank market decreased by 20 kopecks.
At the same time, since the beginning of 2024, the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar has fallen by 5.8%. The Verkhovna Rada said that it corresponds to the planned indicators included in the state budget of Ukraine.
Earlier, the NBU explained the increase in the dollar exchange rate by the continuation of international aid to Ukraine. This influenced the increase in budget expenditures.
