In 2024, Ukrainians are more likely to sell or transfer land to other owners. 185 thousand land alienation agreements were made by notaries in the first quarter of 2024.

In Ukraine, in the first quarter of 2024, more than 185 thousand contracts for the alienation of land were drawn, which is 36.4% more than before the start of the war, and 56% more than the same period last year : after notaries have certified nearly 119 thousand of these forms. This is confirmed by data from the Unified Register of Notary Forms of the Ministry of Justice, Opendatabot reports.

At the same time, other real estate foreclosures increased by 55%, but they are still fewer than in 2021.

In the first quarter of this year, notaries certified more than 181 thousand such forms. By comparison, for the same period last year there were almost 117 thousand such agreements. However, this is 16% less than before the start of the war: then more than 216 thousand forms were used to separate the land.

According to analysts, a notarial act does not always require only a notary form. Accordingly, the number of actions is estimated and compared to previous years.

We remind you that the land market in Ukraine was opened on July 1, 2021. In the first two and a half years, only individuals – citizens of Ukraine – can buy agricultural land with a limit of 100 hectares.

In January of this year, it was reported that the first agreements with legal entities were registered in the agricultural land market.
