The Russian government has introduced a temporary ban on sugar and chemically pure sucrose. The corresponding resolution was published the previous day.
“The restriction will be implemented until August 31, 2024. The decision is aimed at maintaining the stability of the domestic food market,” the message said.
However, the order provides some exceptions. Thus, sugar supplies will be possible in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in certain volumes. In particular, it is allowed to export 28 thousand tons to Armenia, 5 thousand tons to Belarus, 120 thousand tons to Kazakhstan, and 28.5 thousand tons to Kyrgyzstan.
In the past, Russia introduced a temporary restriction on the export of motor gasoline and diesel fuel. This is due to the increase in fuel prices.
Also in Russia, egg prices have risen significantly. They had to be imported from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and other countries.
