High rates of gas production are observed in the east of Ukraine, but in the west and central regions the plan has also been exceeded.
In the first quarter of this year, Naftogaz group enterprises increased gas production by 12% and reached the highest figure for the corresponding period in the past two years. The company’s press service reported this on Monday, April 29.
It is indicated that this result was achieved by launching new productive wells, as well as effective work on the old stock.
“Our goal is to maintain this trend and achieve production growth based on the year’s results,” the statement said.
It was noted that traditionally the highest production rate was observed in the east of Ukraine, but in the west and central regions the plan was also exceeded.
“Each gas production department of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, despite the shelling and sometimes the lack of electricity supply, is fulfilling the planned gas production targets for this year,” said the head of Ukrgasvydobuvannya Oleg Tolmachev.
As you know, Ukraine spent last winter using its own gas. It was also reported that gas in Ukraine has become cheaper for five consecutive months.
