In March of this year, it was reported that all Indian companies refused to accept oil from Sovcomflot tankers.
The ship, controlled by Russia’s Sovcomflot, which is under US sanctions, discharged fuel at a port in western India. Reuters reported this on Friday, April 26, citing informed sources.
SCF Baltica is reportedly carrying 90,000 tonnes of fuel for Reliance Industries, operator of the world’s largest oil refinery complex at Jamnagar in Gujarat state.
The US has imposed sanctions on the Russian shipping giant and identified 14 crude oil tankers as assets in which Sovcomflot had an interest following the outbreak of war in Ukraine on February 23 this year. The SCF Baltica is not on the list of 14 vessels sanctioned by Washington in recent months.
Earlier it was reported that the Indian company Reliance refused to supply oil to the Russian Federation using Sovcomflot tankers.
After some time, a message appeared that all Indian companies refused to accept oil from Sovcomflot tankers.
