The company aims to maintain the speed and volume of coal production needed for reliable operation of thermal generation during peak consumption and during the heating season, said DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Saleev.
In three months of 2024, DTEK machine builders produced five coal combines and 270 thousand spare parts for mining equipment. This was reported by the company’s press service.
“In order to lay a more reliable foundation for Ukraine to go through the next heating season, in the first three months of this year, the company’s machine-building companies built five new tunneling and shearers, and also repaired 374 pieces of mining equipment. In addition, the machine builders provided the needs of miners with 273 thousand spare parts and components,” the statement said.
According to Ildar Saleev, General Director of DTEK Energy, after the unprecedented breakdown of the energy system, the company must intensify efforts to prepare for the next winter.
“Currently, we direct all our efforts to remove the consequences of shelling and restore them. At some stations we are still removing the rubble but we are also doing everything to maintain the speed and the amount of coal production required for the reliable operation of thermal generation during peak consumption and during the heating season, we rely on the reliable work of machine builders, providing the needs of Ukrainian miners with equipment which is needed for mining,” he said.
Earlier this month, it was reported that DTEK mines launched eight new coal faces since the beginning of the year, and plans to put 26 faces into operation by 2024. Last year, Akhmetov’s company invested of about UAH 7 billion in Ukrainian coal mining.
