The Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted that last week alone, farmers in the country planted 408.6 thousand hectares of rice and leguminous crops.
In the territory controlled by Ukraine, 1.26 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been sown. The press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported this on Friday, April 12.
In particular, the following were sown:
wheat – 173.9 thousand hectares;
barley – 683.4 thousand hectares;
peas – 147.7 thousand hectares;
oats – 117 thousand hectares.
The ministry noted that last week alone, farmers in the country planted 408.6 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops.
The most sown last week were:
in Kyiv region – 23 thousand hectares of wheat, 39.3 thousand hectares of barley, 4.7 thousand hectares of peas and 3.6 thousand hectares of oats;
in the Ternopil region – 18.9 thousand hectares of wheat, 63.6 thousand hectares of barley, 3.6 thousand hectares of peas and 5.1 thousand hectares of oats;
in the Khmelnitsky region – 14.8 thousand hectares of wheat, 59.1 thousand hectares of barley, 2.6 thousand hectares of peas and 2.5 thousand hectares of oats;
in the Zhytomyr region – 13.7 thousand hectares of wheat, 15.9 thousand hectares of barley, 2.6 thousand hectares of peas and 17.9 thousand hectares of oats.
in Vinnytsia region – 11.5 thousand hectares of wheat, 52.3 thousand hectares of barley, 6 thousand hectares of peas and 1.1 thousand hectares of oats;
in the Poltava region – 6.5 thousand hectares of wheat, 73 thousand hectares of barley, 8.5 thousand hectares of peas and 2.3 thousand hectares of oats. Farmers in the Poltava region completed the sowing of early grain and leguminous crops.
In addition, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, sunflower was sown on 470.1 thousand hectares, sugar beets – on 157.6 thousand hectares. The majority of sugar beets were sown in the Vinnytsia region – 42 thousand hectares.
Agricultural producers from 15 regions have begun sowing corn; 120 thousand hectares were sown with it.
Agrarians of the Nikolaev region, Odessa region, Khmelnytsky region and Kherson region began to sow buckwheat and millet, and soybeans were sown in nine regions.

We remind you that at the end of March the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the 2024 sowing season was 8.3% ahead of last year.
Earlier it was reported that funds are allocated for partial compensation to farmers for Ukrainian equipment.
