To further develop distributed generation, the company needs debt financing. Negotiations are currently underway with one of the European funds.
Energy holding DTEK is developing distributed generation to increase overall resistance to shelling by Russian aggressors. The company’s general director Maxim Timchenko said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

According to his estimates, today “DTEK is the largest investor in distributed generation.”
“This will definitely make the Ukrainian energy system more resistant to attacks,” Timchenko emphasized and recalled that DTEK noted the need to develop distributed generation from the first months of a full-scale war.
He explained that some enemy missiles can destroy a thermal power plant, while in a wind farm they can only damage one or two wind turbines.
At the same time, Timchenko added that to develop distributed generation, DTEK needs debt financing.
“Commercial banks do not lend to Ukrainian companies without guarantees from export credit agencies, which must receive limits from their governments. Ukraine is now in the red risk zone .We are now discussing such insurance with one of the European funds to unblock the financing for the second phase of the Tiligul wind farm,” – said the CEO of DTEK.
Let’s remember that at the height of the war, DTEK built the Tiligul wind power plant in the Nikolaev region with a capacity of 114 MW, 100 km from the combat zone. It is the first wind farm in the world built during the war.
It was also reported that “green” energy helps prevent blackouts in the Odessa region.
