The Chairman of the State Property Fund Vitaly Koval emphasized: the statement that “during the war, privatization is not the right time” is a myth.
The State Property Fund auctioned a complex of buildings of the former Uman correctional colony. During the auction, the item’s postal value increased 194 times. The head of the State Property Fund, Vitaly Koval, announced this on Wednesday, April 3.
“The value of the complex of buildings of the former Uman correctional colony has increased 194 times. The starting price is UAH 149.4 thousand. The final price is UAH 29 million,” the message said.
It was reported that 42 companies participated in the April 2 auction.
“The lot today consists of a complex of non-residential buildings and structures with a total area of 3143.5 square meters. They include an educational and production building with a basement of a former correctional colony and a land plot under the buildings with an area of 60 hectares,” said Koval.
According to him, the successful example of the sale of a former colony once again shows that now the market itself controls the value of things.
Koval recalled that the Ministry of Justice transfers to the SPF for the sale of penitentiary institutions that are no longer used for their intended purpose.
“And the statement that “privatization is not the time during the war” is a myth. Now is not the time to create losses for the state,” added the head of the fund.
Earlier it was reported that the Kholminsky distillery was sold for UAH 45 million. Three contestants competed for the object. Its value during the auction increased 2.9 times from the original value of UAH 15.5 million.
