The results of the current marketing year may improve significantly in the coming months if the pace of grain exports continues.
Ukraine in the 2023/2024 marketing year (from July 1, 2023 to April 1, 2024) exported 34.86 million tons of grain and legumes. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food announced this on Monday, April 1.
It is indicated that in the current MY the following have been exported: 13.84 million tons of wheat, 1.96 million tons of barley, 1 thousand tons of rye and 18.76 million tons of corn.
For comparison, from July 1 to April 3, 2022/2023 MY, Ukraine exported 38.05 million tons of grain and legumes, of which 13.01 million tons of wheat, 2.28 million tons of barley, 17.7 thousand tons of rye and 22, 43 million tons. of corn
In the past month, Ukraine exported 5.19 million tons of grain and legumes, including 2.07 million tons of wheat, 339 thousand tons of barley and 2.77 million tons of corn.
As of April 1, Ukraine exported 79.3 thousand tons of flour since the beginning of 2023/2024 MY (from July 1 to April 3, 2022/2023 MY, 115.9 thousand tons were exported).
Let’s recall that in the 2022/2023 marketing year, Ukraine exported about 49 million tons of grain and legumes. Then our country earned more than 20 billion dollars. At the same time, Ukrainian farmers lost more than $1 billion due to ship downtime.
But in the marketing year 2023/2024 the results could be better. Indicators of the Ukrainian sea corridor have already exceeded the results of the grain agreement, which was terminated after Russia’s demarche.
