The average monthly income from the provision of fixed Internet access services per subscriber last year reached 219 UAH/month, and in 2022 this figure will reach 184.6 UAH/month.
Providers’ income from the provision of fixed Internet access services in Ukraine in 2023 increased by a quarter compared to 2022 and reached UAH 21.2 billion. This is stated in the report of the National Commission that carries out state regulation in the field of electronic communication, radio frequency spectrum and the provision of postal services (NCEC), published on Thursday, March 28.
It is noted that the ARPU indicator – the average monthly income from the provision of fixed Internet access services per subscriber – last year reached 219 UAH/month, and in 2022 this figure will reach 184.6 UAH/month. The number of fixed Internet access lines increased by 33% – up to 8.1 million.
In general, revenues from the provision of communication services in Ukraine in 2023 increased by 31% – up to 130.5 billion UAH, and from the provision of electronic communication services – 97.3 billion UAH, which is almost 17% more than in 2022.
Revenue from mobile communication services in 2023 increased by 9% – to UAH 61.7 billion, the number of SIM cards increased from 49.3 million units. in 2022 to 50.3 million units. in 2023, but did not reach the pre-war indicators that were before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine: on December 31, 2021, the number of mobile SIM cards in Ukraine was 55.9 million units.
It is noted that the decrease in the number of mobile SIM cards is definitely related to the full invasion of the Russian Federation, because Ukrainian mobile communication networks became unavailable in the occupied territories, and many Ukrainians left the abroad.
More than half of the SIM cards used in Ukraine in 2023 (29.8 million units) will be connected to 4G.
We remind you that the share of Ukrainians who use the Internet every day increased from 72% to 80% throughout the year. Since 2021, this number has increased by more than 10%.
