Copyright owners can petition to include a site that infringes intellectual property rights on the national list of such websites.
Ukraine has joined several states that will fill the WIPO ALERT platform to counter the operation of websites that violate intellectual property rights. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy on Tuesday, March 26
“Thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Economy with WIPO through the WIPO Alert data exchange platform, participating countries can exchange information about potential violations of intellectual property rights on a global scale ,” the department said.
Subjects of copyright and/or related rights can now submit a request to the IP Office to include a website that raises intellectual rights concerns on the national list of such websites.
The platform is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Member countries upload lists of websites and mobile applications that infringe copyright according to national regulations to WIPO Alert.
Ukraine is the 15th country to join the WIPO initiative.
Let’s recall that in 2021 Ukraine withdrew from the CIS agreement on cooperation in the protection of intellectual property.
