During the week, residents of 290 settlements in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Kyiv regions suffered from shelling by racists.

During the week from March 18 to 24, DTEK’s repair and restoration teams restored electricity to residents of 290 settlements in Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Kyiv regions that suffered massive power system outages of the country. This was reported by the press service of the energy company on Monday, March 25.

DTEK recalled that on March 22 and 24, Russia again resorted to large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Electricity generation, transmission and distribution facilities were destroyed, which led to the need to limit energy consumption. To stabilize the situation, by order of NEC Ukrenergo, emergency shutdowns were introduced in a number of areas.

“At the end of the heating season, the enemy made another terrorist blow to the Ukrainian energy sector, approaching, and sometimes even exceeding, the scale of October 2022. To withstand its consequences, the sector of energy of the whole country is carrying out emergency restoration work 24/7. Our common goal is to have light in every house, “says DTEK Network CEO Alexander Fomenko.

The press service added that last week the company’s power engineers managed to restore power to more than 46 thousand consumers in Odessa, but the situation remains difficult. To stabilize it, the city has an emergency shutdown.

“In the Dnipropetrovsk region, thanks to the coordinated work of all energy workers in the region, almost 180 thousand families in 253 settlements have power again. The power grids of the Kiev region were also damaged by rocket debris. Here, repair crews restored power to more than 3 thousand local residents,” DTEK said in a statement.

In the Donetsk region, where electricity engineers had to continue repairing networks due to shelling by the Russians, electricity supply was restored to nearly 50 thousand consumers in 32 settlements last week.

We remind you that on March 22, Russian terrorists carried out the largest attack on the energy sector of Ukraine: more than 150 missiles and attack drones were used. After the attack, DTEK reported the loss of nearly half of its capacity. The damage can be estimated in billions of hryvnia.
