Investment in construction, finance, insurance, transport and trade provides less benefits than investment in creative industries.
The cultural sector of Ukraine is profitable for investment, and you can make money from it. This is what the acting Minister of Culture Rostislav Karandeev said at the international forum of Creative Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday, March 19.
“Culture becomes profitable – you can make money from it. And this is true. Each hryvnia invested in creative industries provides income with a multiplier of 2.2. This is more than, pay attention, for construction, insurance activity. We must take advantage of them, about Ukrainian artists and entrepreneurs must know this and boldly decide to invest in culture, “he said.
Karandeev believes that this is an upward trend that continues even during the war, and it shows the level of development and participation of Ukrainian culture in the pan-European and global process of making a creative product.

“Let’s look at the economic profitability of the creative industry in recent years. Yes, of course, the fall in 2022. But 2023 showed us an increasing trend, and, according to our analytical data, even in despite the challenges of the war and existing problems, the Ukrainian creative economy has been rebuilt,” – he emphasized.
According to Karandeev, this industry is expected to grow by 2024. According to the head of the Ministry of Culture, it can be an incentive for both artists and businesses to invest more actively in cultural projects and provide funds for the development of creative industries.
Let’s remember that the mass invasion of Russia led to the damage or destruction of more than 900 cultural heritage sites of Ukraine.
