This morning, seven nuclear power units are operating. Their total capacity is 5900 MW.
The second unit of the Khmelnitsky NPP was disconnected from the network in order to identify and eliminate the causes of deviations in the operation of the turbine unit. Energoatom reported this on Thursday, March 14.

“Yesterday at 17:48, a fluctuation in the axial shift parameter of the rotor of the high-pressure cylinder of the turbine unit (HPC) was recorded with an increasing tendency. In the conditions of excess in the electricity market, it was decided to turn off the turbine unit to identify and eliminate the causes of the deviation,” the message said.
Currently, seven nuclear power units are in operation, all at rated power. The total capacity of the nuclear power plant is 5900 MW.
We remind you that since March 7, Ukrainian nuclear power plants have been switched to reduced load. Energoatom has started preparing power units for the repair campaign, which began later this year.
The next day it became known that at one of the nuclear power plants the power unit was shut down for repairs.
