In the first two months of 2024, DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants generated 2.6 billion kWh of electricity, or 6% more than in January-February last year. This was reported by the DTEK press service on Friday, March 8.
“The amount of electricity generated in the energy system is equivalent to the average energy consumption of nearly 900 thousand families throughout the year,” the company reported.
In this regard, the General Director of DTEK Energy Ildar Saleev emphasized that during this winter all available equipment in DTEK TPPs worked to the maximum.

“Especially in periods where there was an increase in consumption due to weather conditions and low temperatures. Therefore, despite the shelling of the enemy at our stations, and there are almost 40 of them this winter, the electrical engineers continues to do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainians have light and warmth,” – he said.
It was previously reported that at the end of winter, 1.4 GW of DTEK’s thermal generation was out of action due to Russian shelling. However, electrical engineers were able to restore 10 power units and in addition reactivated two more units.
