The demand for electric vehicles has increased in Ukraine

The share of new cars in BEV registration, like last year, is 24%. The majority of electric vehicles registered during the month were passenger vehicles.

By February 2024, the Ukrainian car fleet will be filled with more than 3.9 thousand electric cars. Compared to the same period last year, the demand for electric vehicles increased 2.3 times. It was reported by Ukravtoprom.

It was noted that the share of new cars in BEV registrations, like last year, was 24%. The majority of electric vehicles registered in the month were passenger cars – 3,881 units. (new – 926 pcs., used – 2955 pcs.).

Of the 43 commercial electric vehicles, only 2 are new.

Most in demand

  • Volkswagen ID.4 – 257 units;

  • BYD Song Plus – 104 units;

  • Honda eNS1 – 96 units;

  • Nissan Ariya – 71 units;

  • Honda M-NV – 49 units.

The top five used electric cars registered for the first time in Ukraine include:

  • Nissan Leaf – 416 units;

  • Tesla Model 3 – 380 units;

  • Tesla Model Y – 279 units;

  • Volkswagen e-Golf – 210 units;

  • Hyundai Kona Electric – 161 units.

In total, since the beginning of the year, 7.5 thousand electric vehicles underwent their first registration in Ukraine, which is two and a half times more than in the same period last year.

We remind you that in January the Ukrainian car fleet was filled with more than 3.5 thousand battery-powered vehicles (BEV). The demand for electric vehicles increased 2.8 times compared to the same period last year.

It was also reported that in February about 5.7 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Ukraine. The most Toyota cars were sold – 858 cars. This is 70% more than in the past. Next is the Renault brand – 706 units. (+64%).
