The Russians cannot refuel the fuel, with the six-year life span on the reactors expiring.
The nuclear fuel at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is about to expire, and the Russians cannot reload it. Energoatom’s press service reported this on Wednesday, March 6.
The head of the company, Petr Kotin, noted that the fake management of the Zaporozhye NPP does not have the ability to reload the fuel, the six-year life of which in the reactors is expiring.
“To do this, it is necessary to disassemble the reactors, gain access to it, and then perform a very complex technological reloading operation. This requires licensed personnel, which we do not currently have. it’s also complicated management and technical decisions – what to do with empty fuel. There are people out there who haven’t done this before,” he said.
We remind you that there are no Energoatom personnel left at the Zaporozhye NPP, which is temporarily occupied by the Russians.
Earlier, Energoatom warned about a new threat from Zaporizhzhya NPP. The subsequent operation of nuclear fuel in power units can lead to a radiation accident.
