Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said unfrozen funds will be transferred to support small and medium-sized agricultural producers.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Friday, February 23, announced plans to unlock 137 billion euros for Poland. The European official announced this at a joint press conference with the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, in Warsaw, reports the Polish TV channel Polsat.
“I have good news: next week the European Commission will make two decisions on European funds that are currently blocked for Poland. These decisions will free up to 137 billion euros for Poland. Talking let’s talk about funds from unity funds and funds under the plan Next Generation EU“, he says.
The release of these funds to the European Commission is related to the need for reforms in the field of the rule of law in Poland, the implementation of which Brussels is considered effective.
“This is an important day for all of us. From the first days of the prime minister’s office, the goal has been, among other things, to restore the rule of law and democratic standards,” Tusk said.
According to the Prime Minister of Poland, unfrozen funds will be transferred to support small and medium-sized agricultural producers.
Let’s remember that last year it was reported that the European Commission could start a punitive procedure against Poland if Warsaw does not solve the problem of carriers blocking border crossings in Ukraine.
